In April 2019, author and historian Mickey Mayhew contributed a personal article about bullying to Anna Kennedy Online, an organisation supporting autistic people and their families.

Drawing on his own experiences of growing up autistic, Mickey reflected on the bullying he encountered, its impact on his education, and the importance of resilience.

Originally published under the title Bullying – an article by Mickey Mayhew, the piece offered a personal perspective on the challenges faced by autistic young people.

Mickey Mayhew: The Four Marys in History Scotland

Dr Mickey Mayhew contributed an article titled The Four Marys to a special Mary Queen of Scots edition of History Scotland magazine, published to coincide with the release of the 2018 film.

The article explores the four childhood companions of Mary Queen of Scots — Mary Beaton, Mary Seton, Mary Fleming and Mary Livingston — and their relationships with the Scottish queen.

The special edition also featured historical background, interviews and articles exploring Mary’s life and legacy.
